  • New Major Feature - Outlook Events for Activity Manager. When creating an event from the webparts UI, a corresponding Outlook event will be created in the organization's shared calendar, allowing users to register and unregister from the Outlook event freely and be notified of changes.

  • In Activity Manager module it is now possible to edit events directly from the webpart.

  • Fixed validation error in Create Panel for Activity Manager. The time field of Registration Deadline property is no longer disabled.

  • Fixed Banner duplication in Smart News module (previously Short News) when creating news from template.

Update prerequisites:

  • Update Activities list column with a new site column: "OutlookEventId" (string).
  • The use of new feature of Activity Manager module requires a shared mailbox, where users have read and write permissions on it.

Update procedure and impact:

Impact: No impact.

Procedure:

  1. Create a new site column in the ActivityCalendar Content Type: From SharePoint admin center navigate to Content Type gallery and find the ActivityCalendar content type. Inside create a new single text line column with the name: OutlookEventId

  2. Verify that the column is then accessible in the list by adding it to a new view. (Not the "All Items" view).

  3. Verify that a corresponding crawled and managed properties was created in the Search Schema

  4. Crawled property: ows_OutlookEventId
  5. Managed property: OutlookEventIdOWSTEXT

Note: If these properties are missing, ensure that at least one list item contains these fields (filled out) and has been indexed.

Following these steps ensures that the Activity Calendar functions correctly with the latest update.
